032: Energy and Relaxation from the same song - Narayana Sthothram recital by Priya Sisters

Its been a long break, on capturing my thoughts on my favorite music. On the pretext of changes and balancing the work and personal life..my laziness had got an excuse for not doing the justice for the music lover in me. Very few songs, touch the soul and offers inspiration and peace..while we listen to in-numerous songs ,its only a few that make you go dizzy..Its not only the music but the ambience and mood also plays a key role in enjoying the music. Its like a energy vortex, one the spiraling music     is set with correct ambience and mood...the elevation and inspiration the music offer to the listener has no bounds..

I had a similar experience,  this morning . Surprisingly weather in Chennai was relatively better and my mind was also blank without any specific thoughts..but was playing within a note whichwas like  mesmerizing , it did not take a long time for me to recollect the song..This was holy "Narayana Stotram" written by Sri Adi Shankaracharya  and rendered by Priya Sisters,

Here is the beautiful song ..don't miss it...

031: Music alias Raja

Music alias Raja, It's practically not possible for me to talk about music without using Raja's name. Last week during a light moment we were talking about so many stuffs and topic turned towards Raja's Live in Concert. Surprisingly everyone (a team of 5 ppl) every one had watched the program fully, few of us have watched the repeat of the excerpt on youtube. I really wonder would it be possible to bring in a 35 years of wonderful music in some 3 and half hour program. As a matter of fact as of today wikipedia's Ilaiyaraaja discography is still in complete.  Unable to document a geniuses life time itself is a huge loss.

While thats not this post about,  it's understandable that it's not really possible to document all of the geniuses work but if some one makes an attempt on the same it would be well treasured.

Coming back to the point, while we were discussing the topic went on towards old BBC programs and other informative works on the quality and appreciations on IR's work. That reminded me share some of my favourite stuffs about the musical mastero.
